Prior to your appointment be sure to moisturize your skin daily, grow out your hair to at least 1/4 th of an inch long, and gently exfoliate the day before your appointment to slough off dry flakes of skin which helps with the waxing process. Exfoliation can be achieved without harsh chemicals; we recommend using an exfoliating glove or loofah.
Preparing for your appointment:
A week before your appointment
Be sure to moisturize your skin every day. When your skin is moisturized and hydrated, it responds better to waxing. However, there's no need to moisturize on the day of your waxing appointment.
Before booking
Before booking your appointment, examine your skin to make sure the area(s) you're planning on getting waxed is free of any inflammation, cuts, or otherwise broken skin. Your skin may be too sensitive for waxing if you have these problems.
Grow out your hair
We need your hair to be at least 1/4 of an inch long so the wax can remove it effectively.
Gently exfoliate
Gently exfoliate the day before your appointment. This helps slough away dry flakes of skin which helps with the waxing process. Be sure to not be too aggressive and don't use strong exfoliation products. An exfoliation glove, scrub, or loofah will suffice.
If it's your first time waxing and you're taking medications
Talk to your doctor about whether your medications could interfere with waxing. Retin-A can make your skin more sensitized and is a contraindication of waxing.
Make sure to list all allergies when filling out client forms at your appointment.
To save time, we have created a vague ingredients list that you can find on the navigation menu. We want to avoid any skin reactions that aren't typical with waxing.
